The City of Waveland takes pride in providing its citizens and visitors with the best service and experience possible. Our staff is dedicated to making sure all of your needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Administration

The Administration is headed by the Mayor and is in charge of all day to day operations of the City. Located on the second floor of City Hall, areas of the Administration Department include, the City Clerk, Comptroller, Human Resources, Payroll and Insurance, Inventory Control, and Purchasing.

Building and Zoning Departments

The Building and Zoning Departments coordinate building or construction projects with the citizens of Waveland, developers, and contractors. The departments provides information on all construction, zoning, and land use requirements; reviews all building permit applications and plot diagrams as they relate to the Planning and Zoning Ordinance of the City of Waveland; receives and takes appropriate action on all applications for dimensional variances, conditional use permits, and zoning amendments; and reviews all site plans; as well as floodplain administration.

Fire Department

The City of Waveland operates two fire stations to provide maximum coverage for its citizens. Fire Station No. 1 is located on Coleman Avenue next to City Hall, and the Central Fire Station is located at 427 Hwy 90. The Central Fire Station is also the location of the Fire Chief and administrative offices.

Police and Court Departments

The City of Waveland Police Department and Municipal Court is located at 1602 McLaurin Street. The Waveland Police Department, in partnership with our community, provides impartial, ethical, and professional law enforcement service and protection.

Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of all streets, drainage, and maintenance of City properties, facilities, and parks.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4:30 pm.
